Hello, and welcome to MyLifeType2.com! I’m glad you found your way to my little corner of the internet, and since you are on the “About” page, you may want to know a little bit about me.
I am a Type 2 diabetic, obviously, and I’ve been fighting the disease for over 10 years. Over that time frame I have come in contact with many folks that also are struggling with diabetes, and I have heard, seen and read many a story about how it can be reversed, or how it can be managed. I like a good story, but I also like to know if it is fiction or non-fiction, so part of this blog’s function is to separate the good information from the bad regarding Type 2 Diabetes.
I’m also a father, husband, son, student and teacher. And sure, that pertains to a lot of us, but you can change the gender identity to suit you, of course.
“My Life”, quite simply, is my family and my career as an educator. I have a beautiful wife and two incredible kids who have supported me throughout this journey, and an extended family who have been instrumental as well. As a husband and father you are continually looking for ways to protect your family, and I truly believe that the insights I have gained into a healthy human way of eating will not just serve me in my fight with T2, but will also be beneficial for them.
As an educator, I am always the student, learning and asking questions. I am naturally curious, and love to research a topic so I have a good understanding of the issues. Whether it is the efficacy of certain drugs, or the benefits of a specific diet, or simply how to be content and happy, you can be assured that if it is on a blog post I have looked into it, ad nauseam.
I would love for you to be in on the conversation! I have a Facebook page devoted to diabetes and the blogs I have posted. Please visit my Facebook group at My Life Type 2 and become a member!
